LOCAL IN GLOBAL FORUM 2021 - SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN RURAL AREAS
Ideas, good practice and fruitful exchange
Online, MARCH 26TH - 30TH 2021
An online forum for actors from the fields of non-formal education with a special interest in rural and structurally weak areas
from Armenia, Bulgaria, Germany, Moldova, Poland and Ukraine
How to provide authentic, attractive, impactful educational offers for sustainable development in rural areas? - This is the core question of the Local in Global forum. The program combines keynotes by experts, sessions for networking, and workshops on a choice of topics. An exchange of good practice for education for sustainable development (ESD) and transformative learning in non-formal education finds a place, as well as an open exchange format tailored to the needs and interests of the group.
Participants can choose one of two topics they would like to explore more in-depth:
SUSTAINABLE EDUCATIONAL CENTRES IN RURAL AREAS:
How do educational centres in various countries foster sustainability in their educational work and their everyday practice (food, energy supply, transport, etc.)? How do they interact with the local community around them?
EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FOR RURAL AUDIENCES:
What kind of educational offers are suitable and attractive for audiences in rural and structurally weak areas? How can we provide social entrepreneurship perspectives to rural youth that is compatible with sustainability principles? And how to increase the appreciation for a sustainable lifestyle amongst rural youth?
